Crime Victim's Week Recognition

On Friday, April 18, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. the MTC Institutional Parole Office and District 40 Probation/Parole Office in conjunction with DAI and DORS staff at the Maryville Treatment Center recognized Crime Victims Week. Staff from all entities gathered for the 12th annual tree planting ceremony conducted at Mozingo Lake in Maryville, MO. 4th District Representative, Mike Thomson, was the guest speaker for the event. Maryville City Councilman, Mike Thompson, read a proclamation presented by the City of Maryville. Fr. Kenneth Reichert, OSB, victim and previous speaker, opened the ceremony with a prayer followed by MTC Warden, Joe Ledbetter, leading the gathering in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Fr. Reichert, at the conclusion of the ceremony, offered benediction in closing. The event was accented with opening and closing music presented by the South Nodaway, Barnard, MO, School District Band. This event was coordinated by Probation/Parole District Administrator, Tom Seipel, and MTC Functional Unit Manager, Teresa Shirrell.
